This week, MDHHS Director Nick Lyon named Dr. George Mellos as Senior Deputy Director for the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration. Dr. Mellos is a psychiatrist and has most recently served as Director for the Bureau of State Hospital and Behavioral Administrative Services, overseeing all MDHHS hospitals and centers. He replaces Lynda Zeller, who has retired from the state and joined the Michigan Health Endowment Fund.

Director Lyon also named Karen MacMaster as acting Deputy Director for the Population Health Administration. Ms. MacMaster most recently served as Administrative Deputy for Population Health and before that as Director for the Bureau of Health and Wellness. She replaces Sue Moran, who will retire from the state on September 28.
